Mario Nievera of Nievera Williams conducted a comprehensive redesign of the landscaping.
KHAKUM WOOD ASSOCIATION
A private community established in the 1920s featuring two man-made lakes, mature trees and plantings, and professional security six days per week. The Association maintains architectural restrictions to preserve the integrity of the community. The landscape design of Khakum Wood Association was conceived by the Olmsted Brothers, the firm founded by Frederick Law Olmsted, designer of Central Park and Queen’s Park, London.
PROPERTY HISTORY
The original 1929 residence at 44 Khakum Wood Road was designed by New York architect Julius Gregory, renowned for his work in the Tudor Revival style. The home was constructed in 1929 for James C. Rogerson and was featured as the cover home in the distinguished Country Life magazine, January 1934 edition, highlighting its architectural significance.
In 2014, the Greenwich Historical Society recognized the historical and architectural significance of this home through its Landmark Recognition Program, marking the property’s important legacy and architectural importance to the town.
From 2023 to 2025, an extensive renovation and expansion was conceived and executed with the intention of retaining the spirit and architectural integrity of the home while bringing it fully into the 21st century in terms of functionality.
This property is move-in ready for the holidays, with some furnishings available to purchase.
